Added to this basic background knowledge a student should be able to use Latin and Greek prefixes, roots words and suffixes to help them understand the different anatomical terms. Goal: To have students recognize that anatomy and physiology has a language all its own. The reason being is that every person involved in a science or in medicine needs to communicate with each other and language can be a problem.
